RENEWAL offers a creative pathway for veterans seeking peace, balance, and self-discovery through art—without the clinical structure of therapy. As the wellness-based model of the Painting4PTS program, RENEWAL provides a supportive, reflective environment for veterans to express emotion, restore calm, and reconnect with a sense of purpose.
Participants may choose to paint their own piece, collaborate with a TT1P artist, or have an artist create the work on their behalf—each option designed to meet the veteran’s comfort level and creative goals. The process focuses on mindfulness, connection, and renewal rather than trauma exploration.
Each completed artwork becomes a personal symbol of resilience and growth—an external expression of inner restoration and the power of creative healing.
RENEWAL is a reflective art and storytelling program designed to help veterans process life experiences, reframe personal narratives, and find healing through creativity. Guided by TT1P Wellness Facilitators, participants use artmaking to transform reflection into restoration—creating meaning, balance, and personal renewal.
RENEWAL is designed for veterans seeking a reflective, creative wellness experience rather than a therapy-based intervention.
This program is open to self-referrals and may also be recommended by a therapist, case manager, or peer support specialist when appropriate.
Participation is best suited for veterans whose PCL-5 (Post-Traumatic Stress Checklist) score falls within the Low range (0–19)—indicating minimal or well-managed PTSD symptoms. Veterans in this range benefit most from programs that emphasize personal insight, connection, and emotional renewal through art rather than trauma processing.
Those with moderate to high PCL-5 scores (20+) are encouraged to explore TT1P’s therapist-supported programs, such as RECLAIM or IGNITE, which provide greater structure and collaborative clinical oversight.
While additional assessments such as PHQ-9, GAD-7, and WHO-5 are optional, they may be submitted if available to help TT1P ensure the program aligns with the participant’s current wellness goals.
