HOW IT STARTED
When the Mental Health Expressive Art Toolkit Program began, our mission was simple: provide personalized art toolkits directly to Veterans who needed a creative outlet but couldn't attend our workshops, could not afford it or just did not want to try. Each toolkit was carefully customized to the individual Veteran and filled with up to $150 in art supplies, instructional materials, and encouragement to help them continue creating wherever they were.
As requests continued to grow, we quickly realized the need extended far beyond individual shipments. Today, our program supports Veterans and service members in three distinct ways, allowing us to reach individuals, military units, and Veteran-serving organizations across the country and around the world.
Individual Veteran
Customized expressive art toolkits valued up to $150, shipped directly to eligible Veterans.
Simple Bulk set of art supplies kits sent to deployed troops because "Down time is the worst time." Creative expression provides a positive outlet during deployment and helps strengthen morale.

Military Serving Organization
Due to lack of budget we help provided to National Guard units, Vet Centers, Veteran One Stop Centers, VA programs, Veteran Service Organizations, nonprofit partners, and government facilities, expanding access to expressive arts for hundreds of Veterans at a time.

The Arts4Vets: Expressive Art Toolkits program supports veterans’ emotional well-being through the healing power of art. Each care package includes curated art supplies and creative prompts designed to encourage reflection, stress relief, and self-expression.
Veterans can explore painting, drawing, sculpting, or mixed media no experience required. Each kit includes easy-to-follow activities and therapeutic guidance to help participants use art as a tool for healing and growth.
Participants can also join optional virtual workshops and peer support sessions to share progress, connect with others, and build community through creativity.
Arts4Vets makes art accessible, empowering veterans to process emotions, find calm, and rediscover strength through creative expression.
