The Vision:
They always tell you if you want it, write it down, speak it and go after it.
Well here it goes, for the last few weeks, I have been visiting this area in downtown that has 2 abandoned buildings. I have connected in my head I want both of them to continue the next steps of my Vision.
If I want South Bend, IN to be the go-to place for Veterans Day Weekend, next to Branson MO and Washington, DC. I will need something big to house it. Well I found it!
A few blocks from some hotels and with the perfect street # 333 (Stands for the Trinity) it is the spot I know I have to have:
This will not only house our annual Military Exhibition every year and will be large enough to house 500 to 1,000 Vendors plus national sponsors and larger than life historical / military displays with room for our breakout sessions to teach about the military.
It will also house, and be used for:
* a Storge area only for Art supplies that we send out to our Military for free for our PTS Awareness mental health campaign.
* Our Dedicated 3 office rooms and conference center to rent out for the needs of our Military
* A daily art workshop space for our Veteran Art therapy with dedicated counselors on sight
* Personal Art/media studio for the Foundation
* A food section for our inhouse catering and a restaurant inside to be open during events and Monday - Friday.
As you enter the building there will be a floating wall from the ground to the ceiling that will have the name of every Veteran who won the battle overseas to only loose it on our own home front. To remind us every day what we are fighting for... every day to make sure that this list never grows!
Lets not forget about the little oil change Gates building in the one of the pictures. I want to change that into a military obstacle course/gym that during the weekend will give free access for kids to come in with their parents to encourage healthy living in our children as well as be a fun place that we will use to educate about our military as well. As well as a discounted or free trainer to help those out of shape get back into fighting shape.
Our Vision is quite simple, to become the Go-to Veterans Day weekend event to attend in the Country. Not Branson, MO or Washington, DC, but to put South Bend, IN on the map. Ideally, we would like to purchase a large 5,000sqft or so, warehouse in the middle of downtown South Bend, to be the True Top 1% Military Exhibition Center, that will be the Venue for military events and events run by Veterans that we will provide at a discount. This will also be the home of the Annual True Top 1% Military Exhibition where we will include a built military obstacle course for when we hold our annual event. Each year on rotation based on the branches of service birthdays, we will focus on the past, present, and future of that branch of service. With the focal point of the venue being a display of that year's branches own display of technology or vehicle, etc. During the event, each year will have breakout sessions with Q&As with that branch of service, Top aides or General/Commanders available for a breakout session as well as a breakout session with large organizations from AM General Lockhead Martin to possibly give tips on how to get a government contract, what it takes to secure one, or even a show/see new technology. And of course, a breakout session of new technology coming from that branch of service.
We are literally on the ground with a Vision looking up and what was just describe is a small part of what I want to do to help our Veterans.
