J.R. founded The True Top 1% Foundation out of a deep respect for those who serve and a personal drive to make a difference. Though not a veteran himself, his family’s military roots trace back to the Revolutionary War, instilling a lifelong appreciation for service and sacrifice.
The idea for TT1P began in 2015, when a family member returned from active duty and struggled with alcohol, smoking, and gambling. While traditional approaches didn’t help, he found peace through the culinary arts. Witnessing how creativity could support healing sparked J.R.’s vision to use art as a tool for emotional recovery and connection.
Transitioning from corporate sales into the study of behavioral psychology, J.R. combined his professional insight with his background as a career artist to develop innovative, creative-based programs that honor and empower veterans. His leadership continues to guide TT1P’s mission to support, uplift, and restore purpose for the True Top 1%ers—America’s military heroes.
As J.R. often says, “The more veterans we can reach, the more we can help.”
