Arts4Vets programs and classes?

When we started; our focus was and still is on our Veterans Mental Health, with a speciality on alcohol abuse issues. We created an "Art Therapy" pop-up style class to teach each Veteran how to use the demon they are battling (the beer bottle) and turn it into a tool for positive Self Expression, and have since expound

The Bottle Technique we use in our True Top 1% Program was created by Nicolas Thallot-Arsc out of France in 2015.  You can use any bottle to create these masterpieces as he does, however we have found and currently looking to study the effect of using a beer bottle to paint with, and if it has a specific additional neurological benefit to help train the brain in alcohol abuse cases.

We have an opportunity for fun or as a Therapy to paint with a beer bottle. For a Therapy, we have you fill out a questionnaire to include which alcohol you use to cope with. Then that designated bottle will be handed to you empty and cleaned of any scent to use to paint with. From then over time, we will teach you this painting technique encouraging you to alleviate what is on your mind and transfer to your hands that will express what you are feeling through the beer bottle on the canvas. Because those who abuse alcohol are trying to run from something and do not normally want to talk to anyone about it.

We are currently in talks with the VA Hospital Suicide Department to create this type of Art program through Volunteer Services for our Veterans from Chicago to Fort Wayne. This is something we look to have a weekly program established by the summer of 2023

Until then, please contact us below to take part in our pop-up 4–5-hour 1-time classes.

General Art Course

Release whatever is weighing you down by creating your own masterpiece

Like our Bottle art program, we use our art classes as a remedial activity to encourage self-expression we hope to be able to shift and/or reduce depression of our Veterans.  These classes can range from beginner's painting, drawing and even sculpting.

Poetry from the SOul

Lead by Carlos Johnson; Founder of the Speak Freely Foundation and our 2nd Lieutenant of TT1P

Poetry Therapy is a form of expressive arts therapy that uses poems, narratives and other spoken or written media to promote well-being and healing. Therapists might use existing literature or encourage those in therapy to create their own literary works as part of treatment.

Part of this program we will conduct group classes, virtual classes, as well as poetry summer Base Tours to allow for creative expression that can foster healing and mental well-being.

This program was created on 12/10/2022 and we look to implement this by June 2023 in Charleston, SC.

Comdey4PTSD

Comedy (Laughter) is The BEST Medicine

Inspired by the Gary Senise Foundations "Almost Red, White and Blue" Army Veteran Comedians Adam Key Dewyne White

Are you struggling with feelings of disconnection and isolation? Are you too self-critical or perfectionistic and want to work on your self-esteem and sense of self? Do you want to learn how to let go, have fun, and live in the moment? Do you want to get more in touch with your playful and creative inner child? Do you like to Laugh, or want to learn how to laugh at yourself?

Within a small supportive group of 6 - 10 people that meets twice a month, you will learn how to be more compassionate towards yourself, open up and be able to take yourself less seriously, so that you can feel calmer and more connected to other people.

You will practice your self-compassion in real time through tailored improv comedy exercises that are designed to support you on the path towards increasing your self-acceptance and self-confidence.

At its core, comedy helps you to take risks, make mistakes, and not take yourself so seriously.  It’s an anti-perfectionism practice.   This is different, fun and enlightening art form to improve mental health for people who feel their symptoms are stable but ongoing.

We do not have anyone to run this program, so if you are interested in or wanting to lead the program, please send your resumes to jr@TrueTop1Percent.com

Music from the Soul

“Music can heal the wounds which medicine cannot touch.” – Debasish Mridha

Inspired by the Founders wife, a career music teacher. I have seen her passion through her work over the years and inspire so many students over the past decade.

As part of our Art Therapy programs, this one is also very close to the Founders heart, because it is close to his wife heart. A program we look to establish for Veterans in 2023 or early 2024.

We will have more information on this in 2023

Healing Podcast release

Part of our vision

This is an experimental therapy that we are interested in adding to our program list. and ultimately have a room in our HQ building.

Our goal is to have a solitary room, secluded from the others from which we can have 1 or many Veterans share their stories anonymously, with no repercussions or spectators there to say one thing or another. And if they desire and with their permission, we will share their stories with the world. Unedited and no censorship, these will be an introspective of the life a Servicemember.

This will be available when we open our Military Exhibition Center (HQ) in sometime 2025.
